Treasures from the past come to life at this 18th-century fort and fur trading village. Reconstructed based on historic maps and more than 50 years of archaeological excavations that continue today, Colonial Michilimackinac offers a one-of-a-kind experience from cannon and musket firings to hearth cooking and crafts.

Colonial Michilimackinac, a reconstructed French fur trade village and palisaded fort, offers an interesting combination of exhibits/period settings, reenactments, beautiful views of the Straits of Mackinac and America's longest ongoing archeological dig. Services:
Colonial Michilimackinac, a reconstructed French fur trade village and palisaded fort, offers an interesting combination of exhibits/period settings, reenactments, beautiful views of the Straits of Mackinac and America's longest ongoing archeological dig. Coming Together a Michilimackinac, a 13-minute audiovisual program, is presented in the Visitor’s Center theater. Attack! at Michilimackinac explores the 1763 capture of the fort during Pontiac’s Uprising. It plays in a theater within the fort. 2015 marks the tri-centennial of Colonial Michilimackinac, with special programs and events through the year.
The Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor’s Center houses a Museum Store featuring a wide variety of unique gifts, mementos, apparel and publications.

Daily: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Early May through Mid October)
Later hours during the peak summer season.
