Monroe County has everything you need for a perfect group outing. With apple orchards, pumpkin patches, petting farms and plenty of homegrown goodies to be found at the farmer’s markets, there’s something for everyone in this beautiful corner of Michigan. So come on out and have some Farm Fun!

Holiday Fun in Small Town America
Every year, people from all over the region descend on the small town of Ida, Michigan for one of largest Christmas events in the Midwest. The Christmas in Ida festival has been a tradition for years, and it’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit! From the spectacular parade of lights to the many fun and festive activities, there’s something for everyone at this family-friendly event.
Then there is the River Raisin National Battlefield Park . Where they preserve, commemorate, and interpret the January 1813 battles of the War of 1812 and their aftermath in Monroe and Wayne counties in SE Michigan. The Battle resulted in the greatest victory for Tecumseh’s American Indian confederation and the greatest defeat for the U.S. The resulting rally cry “Remember the Raisin” spurred support for the rest of the war.
Sterling State Park
William C. Sterling State Park is best known as the only Michigan park on Lake Erie. The park’s 1,300 acres include more than 1 mile of sandy beach, boating and shore fishing on Lake Erie, a fishing lagoon, lakefront camping, wildlife viewing and 7 miles of trails. The park is well known for its walleye fishing, three lagoons and sandy beachfront near the mouth of Sandy Creek
